The February Snows

The temperature stayed between -2 to 17 for about 5 days....

Michael and Josue' simply love the snow!We have had about 9 inches thus far and that is enough for mom! Sledding and playing in it and "snow days" from schools have been the routine for the last week or so.

Did I mention strange hats! Yes they like wearing strange "Snowboarding" hats.

There is a face under all that!

Aaron Francis at 9 months

Aaron met his first snow flakes and wasn't too sure if he liked them! He toured the neighborhood with daddy and mommy. He also contemplated the merits of the "falling" snow flakes!

The joy of finger painting and being allowed to make a mess. Thanks mommy! I sure enjoyed making beautiful paintings for you! Abuelita hopes that you framed a couple of them for my future portfolio! They will increase in value as I grow***

INTRODUCING OUR PETS

THE PETS OF THIS HOUSE HOLD THAT TOLERATE US HUMANS ARE THE FOLLOWING:

Maxwell our proud young boy is the brother of Katy the MOUTH of the two. She is one bossy puppy dog!

She loves sitting on the Bosses chair and check out his desk. (best not let daddy know she does this.. She likes his recliner also.)

Our Blue and Gold macaws.

They are Ms.C it stands for Colonel Bird. we call her Ms.C. She is a sweetie and very lovable, she loves to pluck herself and looks like she is ready for the cooks pot... Ms.C is 13 years old. We have had Ms.C since she was 3 months old. She was born right here in Ohio. She used to talk a lot until Rico joined our home.. Rico is the mouth piece and doesn't let anyone say anything.

Then there is Rico! She came to us as a second hand bird. That means that she had a previous owner that was terrified of her and let her scream and learn some very nasty habits and words. She has been with us 4 years and has unlearned that one particular word that took us by surprise! She is mom's bird. She lets mom do anything. She bit dad on the lip cause he was making funny faces at her. It cost daddy 9 stitches on his upper lip. Yep, we still have her! Rico is is about 10 years old.
Macaws can live up to 75 years as pets. Mom and dad say they will be handed down to us in their wills. We have to be VERY nice to them, their beaks can break a broom stick with one simple snap!

Aren't our pets beautiful?

They are free flyers. This means that they can fly around our house. Ms.C knows how to fly, Rico has never learned, when she tries she just goes boom right down to floor and walks home to her cage. Ms.C flies to her cage from her perch or from our arms when she wants to.

WINTER IN OHIO

It has been a strange winter. We had 60 to 70 degree temperatures for Christmas and now we are in a deep freeze. At the moment it is 16 degrees an it is 1131 hours. It has been snowing for the last 4 days. There isn't much on the ground, about 2 inches and some drifting, just a mess very slippery. The wind is very strong and the wind chill is 2 degrees! How exciting!

Can you see my SNOW ANGEL?

Mom's saving grace! She says looking at her flamingos make her smile and think of sunshine! She has one for every year we live in OHIO, she is up to 14!!!

Michael and I love snow. You would think that we were born in a cold climate and not in Panama!
Our house last year.

Big Birthday Yesterday

DAD TURNED 61 AND DOESN'TT FEEL A BIT OVER 21, EXCEPT WHEN THE BOYS TACKLE HIM AND TAKE THE REMOTE AWAY!!!!

We sang out of tune but sang we did. Dad blew out his "ten " candles. We didn't want to use up all the candles...Mom's birthday is coming up and we need lots of them for her cake too!!

.

We gave him a lot of ties! Daddy still wears ties and we love to give him ties. He has all sort of ties in every color and designs. We can't wait till Father's Day!

!!HAPPY BIRTHDAY DADDY!!

Thanksgiving

Aaron, Mommy and Daddy came from Oregon to share in our Thanksgiving week! The boys had fun with their nephew and "brother". It is hard for them to call Kevin "-in-law"! He is so much an older brother to them.

Kevin, practicing on the Game Cube to get a hands up on Josue'.

Playing with the master!
Michael and Josue' sharing reading time with their nephew. Aaron loves to be read to. He also, loves fingers that point this way or that way!!

We shared Thanksgiving lunch with my Uncle Josue' at his school. I met his classmates and sat at his desk!

We had our turkey cooked by Grandpa V. Hey, Abuelita was inside so she didn't get pictures of the grill and turkey going round 'n round! It was good I was told..I'm still eating mush.. It's o.k . but I am ready to try what's on my mommy and daddy's plate!

Wow, I'm dizzy! What happened Abuelita? We were just starting and I think Abuelita had too many things in her hands.

After many walks and knocking down the JINGA blocks we decorated the Christmas tree while Grandpa V played the piano for us. I love the way the piano sounded and vibrated!

We don't see uncle Michael, he fell asleep in the chair.

Saying Goodbye. We are so glad that the three of you were able to come and be with us during Thanksgiving.

***Until next time!***

Michael and Josue' Halloween

Never too old to go begging on Halloween night!

We carved our pumpkins with great care and fun as a family of three since Michael was fast asleep!
Mom placed them out the next day in a torrential down pour. Rain was threatening our night of begging.

We got dressed anyway since we were this way from school. I am the pirate Michael the Cowboy.

Michael uses me as the excuse for Trick o' Treating but I like his company and always will!

This is my pumpkin, a little devil, did I pick this by mistake or on purpose???
